Description

SUMMARY, EXPLANATION AND LIMITATIONS:
Granzyme B is a neutral serine protease that is stored in specialized granules of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CD8) and NK cells. Since CD8 cells and mouse NK cells have been identified and cloned a group of granzymes named alphabetically (A-G), which are involved in apoptosis mediated by cytotoxic lymphocytes. Exocytosis of granules containing granzyme in the cytoplasm of target cells leads to the fragmentation of DNA and subsequent apoptosis. Granzyme B has been located in Reed Sternberg cells positive for EBV in Hodgkin's disease.

Polyclonal
Isotype: IgG
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide from N-terminus of human Granzyme B.
Staining pattern: Granular cytoplasmic.
Positive control: Tissue sample from tonsil, Hodgkin lymphoma.

APPLICATIONS:
This antibody is designed for the specific localization of human Granzyme B using IHC techniques in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
It is also useful in the diagnosis of T-cell lymphomas/NK lymphoma and anaplastic large cell. High percentages of cytotoxic T cells have proven to be an unfavorable prognostic indicator in Hodgkin's disease.
